Ambrose lost to Saad Awad via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at Bellator 193 on Friday in Temecula, Calif.
ANALYSIS
Ambrose returned to Bellator for the first time in over four years. During his time away, he fought for a variety of smaller promotions and went 9-2. However, he was not able to take the decision against Awad. The fight was relatively even, but Awad had an advantage in nearly every position. On the feet, Ambrose struggled to avoid Awad's power. Ambrose had his moments in the grappling, but he could not lock in a fight-ending submission. Even though he could not pick up the win, Ambrose proved that he belongs at this level.
