The French Spider
Does just enough to win

Meunier defeated Richard Walsh via unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Melbourne, Australia.
ANALYSIS
Neither fighter was particularly impressive here. Walsh struggled to close the distance and land anything. Meunier was not much better, but he was able to do enough with kicks from the outside. At the end of the second round, the Canadian landed a series of kicks to the head. This was his best offense of the fight. In round three, Walsh finally got the takedowns he was hunting for. However, Meunier defended well enough and got back to his feet.

Meunier lost to Colby Covington via submission (rear-naked choke) at 4:06 of Round 3 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Ottawa.
ANALYSIS
It's safe to say that Meunier's UFC debut didn't go as well as he hoped. Overwhelmed from the opening bell, Meunier was unable to stop the advances of Covington, who was able to takedown the debuting Canadian with ease. Meunier has a nice frame for the welterweight division, but he was on his back so much in this fight that we didn't get to see what he can do on the feet. Fighters who are willing to make their company debut on short notice almost get a second chance with the UFC, so expect to see Meunier again even though he was dominated on Saturday.
