To fight Alex Morono at UFC Calgary
Mein is booked to take on Alex Morono in a welterweight bout at UFC Calgary on July 28.
ANALYSIS
Mein had gone through a tough stretch prior to defeating Erick Silva via unanimous decision back in December at UFC Winnipeg, as the fighter entered the bout riding a three-match losing streak dating back to 2014 due in large part to electing to retire at age 25. He's now just 1-3 in UFC since that time, but Mein will head into UFC Calgary with momentum on his side.

Earns first UFC win since August 2014
Mein defeated Erick Silva via unanimous decision (30-26, 30-27, 30-27) at UFC on FOX 26 on Saturday in Winnipeg.
ANALYSIS
It was a strong all-around effort from the Canadian on home soil. With Silva standing up the fence and refusing to move, Mein connected with countless combinations and mixed in a few takedowns for good measure. He controlled Silva on the mat and outworked his opponent in all facets of the fight. It was a win that Mein had to have and he secured it with ease. The victory was Mein's first in the UFC since August 2014.

To face Erick Silva in December
Mein will take on Erick Silva in a welterweight contest on Dec. 16 in Winnipeg, Aaron Bronsteter of TSN Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Mein returns to the arena for a third fight since coming out of retirement, as he looks for his first victory since 2014. In his last two bouts, Mein lost to Belal Muhammed via unanimous decision in July, and was defeated by Emil Meek in Toronto last December. On the other side, Silva enters having recently lost to Yancy Medeiros at UFC 212 in June, which was his first fight since undergoing surgery for an orbital fracture last October.

Outworked by Muhammad in unanimous decision loss
Mein was defeated by Belal Muhammad via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 27-30) at UFC 213 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Mein looked good in the opening round as he landed leg kick after leg kick, and created a large welt on Muhammad's thigh. However, Muhammad adjusted his style and proved to be the stronger fighter as he was able to hold Mein up against the fence for the majority of the fight. The 11-year professional mixed martial artist seemed to tire out with the grinding pace, and even began to be at a disadvantage on the feet by the end of the fight. However, he showed good toughness by surviving a terrible position when Muhammad almost submitted him with a rear-naked choke in the third round. Mein showed good heart, but did not have an answer for Muhammad in the clinch.

Adds fight against Belal Muhammad
Mein will fight Belal Muhammad July 8 at UFC 213, Shaun Al-Shatti of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
This will be Mein's second fight since returning from retirement--he lost a unanimous decision to Emil Weber Meek in December. By the time of the fight, his opponent, Belal Muhammad will have been in UFC for just over a year, and he's posted a 2-2 record since entering. This will be a good matchup for Mein to show he still has it, but also for Muhammad to show he has what it takes to make moves up in UFC.
