Struggles to keep up with AJ McKee's speed at Bellator 197
FeatherweightBellator
April 13, 2018
Lawrence lost to AJ McKee via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) at Bellator 197 on Friday in St. Charles, Mo.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence was considered a top prospect a few years back and even competed on two season of "The Ultimate Fighter." However, it never worked out with the UFC. He joined Bellator in 2015 and won three of his first five bouts before taking on McKee. This turned out to be a tough fight for Lawrence. He made it a point to push the pace, but he could not catch the quicker and slicker fighter. He ate a lot of jabs and leg kicks as he came forward. While he landed some solid strike, he could not do enough to win any of the three rounds. Lawrence will likely keep his job in Bellator, but at this point, he is what he is.

Loses lopsided decision to John Teixeira
FeatherweightBellator
December 4, 2016
Lawrence lost to John Teixeira via unanimous decision (28-29, 27-30, 27-30) at Bellator 167 on Saturday in Thackerville, Okla.
ANALYSIS
Lawrence came into the fight looking to build on his impressive TKO victory over Isao Kobayashi in June, but was simply overmatched by the striking and leg kicks of Teixeira, who wobbled him in the second and third round. While he deserves credit for hearing the final bell, Lawrence was unable to find his rhythm for most of the fight, and has now lost two of his last three contests.
