Spotwood defeated John King via unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27) at Bellator 166 on Friday in Thackerville, Okla.
ANALYSIS
King was the one who started the wrestling in this fight. He went for a takedown early in the fight, but Spotwood was able to reverse. From there Spotwood held position for a bit before King got back to his feet. From there, this fight was mostly spent in the clinch. Spotwood was able to control and press his opponent into the cage for most of the contest. There was not a lot of action in this fight, but Spotwood did enough to win. In the last ten seconds, Spotwood reversed another takedown and unleashed his ground and pound. In that short burst, there was more action than the rest of the fight combined.
