Not the outcome he was looking for
Mitrione fought Sergei Khraitonov to a no-contest at Bellator 215 on Friday night, as Kharitonov was unable to continue after Mitrione delivered an accidental groin strike just 15 seconds into the fight.
ANALYSIS
Mitrione closed as a slight betting favorite for the main event, but the outcome was far from what he and fight fans had been hoping for. The night's finale was unceremoniously cut short, while Mitrione will end up the target of countless Bobby Hill-related jokes for the rest of the weekend. It's unclear if the two will run it back, or if this even interests Kharitonov after Friday's result. As for Kharitonov, he was discharged from the hospital after a second visit Saturday morning, where according to Ariel Helwani of ESPN he was diagnosed with a hemorrhoid but cleared of any internal bleeding.

Has nothing for Ryan Bader on the ground at Bellator 207
Mitrione lost to Ryan Bader via unanimous decision (20-25, 30-24, 30-25) at Bellator 207 on Friday in Uncasville, Conn.
ANALYSIS
Mitrione had to know that he was going to be facing a very solid wrestler who is not afraid to grapple in his fights. However, he could not stop what he knew was coming. Bader scored takedowns in all three rounds. He spent the majority of those rounds on top. He did solid work with punches from the top. Mitrione could not escape and spent most of the fight hanging on to wrist control. He had a solid run in the Bellator heavyweight tournament, but he could not best the light heavyweight champion.

Conquers 'Big Country' in the main event of Bellator 194
Mitrione defeated Roy Nelson via majority decision (28-28, 29-28, 29-28) at Bellator 194 on Friday in Uncasville, Conn.
ANALYSIS
Mitrione used his range advantage to land strikes from the outside. He scored with a variety of lead punches and leg kicks. For the majority of the first round, it looked like he was going to land on Nelson for the length of the fight. However, towards the end of the round, Nelson scored a takedown. The next two rounds followed a similar path. In the final round, Nelson scored an earlier takedown. He eventually worked into the top crucifix position, but he could not land enough strikes to force the referee to stop the fight. Mitrione did enough to win, but Bellator has been pushing him as one of the best heavyweights in the world. That did not appear to be the case here. He moves in the Bellator heavyweight tournament and takes on the winner of the upcoming bout between Ryan Bader and Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal.
