Maximo Blanco
Maxi
Choked out in 19 seconds by Chas Skelly Saturday
Blanco lost to Chas Skelly via submission (anaconda choke) at 0:19 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Hidalgo, Texas.
ANALYSIS
Blanco has a reputation as a bit of a slow starter, but no one in their right mind could have seen this kind of finish coming. Skelly was on top of Blanco so quickly after the opening bell rang that the Venezuelan never had a chance to get into the fight. He also fell victim to a rare poor job of officiating by Herb Dean when it took Dean an additional couple of seconds to realize that Blanco was out cold. Blanco has now lost two-straight following a three-fight winning streak.

Blanco lost to Luke Sanders via submission (rear naked choke) at 3:38 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night 81 on Sunday in Boston.
ANALYSIS
Blanco was originally scheduled to face Dennis Bermudez, who had to drop out due to injury on Dec. 29. He instead faced an up-and-coming prospect in Sanders, who was able to land several early shots. After eating a big left hand early in the round, the fight went to the ground, where Blanco had Sanders in an arm triangle. Sanders was able to fight that off and get back to his feet, where he landed another big left hook that brought Blanco to the ground. Blanco eventually gave up his back, which lead to the rear naked choke that ultimately resulted in his demise. The defeat breaks a three-fight winning streak for the 32-year-old.

Maximo Blanco: Looking to pull off upset against Dennis Bermudez
Blanco will fight Dennis Bermudez at UFC Fight Night on January 17 in Boston, MMAFighting.com reports
ANALYSIS
Blanco destroyed Mike De La Torre in 16 seconds in his last bout in July, but he missed weight for the contest, taking some of the sting out of what was an otherwise tremendous performance. He doesn't really deserve to be fighting someone of Bermudez's caliber, but the featherweight division is extremely deep and Blanco will be given a chance to pull off a major upset.

Maximo Blanco: Gets Quick Stoppage In Win Over Mike De La Torre
Blanco defeated Mike De La Torre via TKO at 0:16 of Round 1 at The Ultimate Fighter Finale: American Top Team v. Blackzilians on Sunday in Las Vegas
ANALYSIS
Blanco seemed awfully pleased with his performance, but he missed weight yesterday and he was the beneficiary of a terrible early stoppage by referee Yves Lavigne in this one. There's no doubt that Blanco leveled De La Torre, but Lavigne never gave him a chance to recover and the bout was over before it started. After starting his UFC career with three losses in his first four bouts, Blanco has now won three in a row. Blanco isn't eligible for a bonus due to missing weight.
