Baghdad was defeated by John Makdessi via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night 90 on Thursday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
There were times in this fight when Baghdad had Makdessi on the ropes, but he was unable to secure a finish and let the fight go to the judges. Baghdad was unable to parlay his reach advantage to a victory in this one, but certainly put on an impressive striking display in the defeat. He's now lost both of his fights with the UFC, but it will be tough not to bring him back after this respectable performance.

Baghdad was defeated by Chris Wade via submission (rear naked choke) at 4:30 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night 81 on Sunday in Boston.
ANALYSIS
Baghdad, who was making his UFC debut, was a late replacement in this fight, but it didn't change the game plan of Wade, who improved to 4-0 in the UFC. Baghdad was simply out-wrestled in this one, as Wade was able to take him down and maintain control before eventually taking his back. Baghdad had been on a seven-fight winning streak prior to joining the UFC, and it's clear he'll have to improve his all-around game if he plans on lasting in the promotion.
