Melinda Fabian

Comes up short in second UFC fight
FlyweightUFC
June 23, 2018
Fabian lost to Jie Yeon Kim via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Singapore.
ANALYSIS
Fabian is still looking for her first win in the UFC after two tries. She had her moments in the fight, but Kim got the better of all the exchanges. Towards the end of the final round, Fabian found something in the clinch. However, she could not do enough to sway the judges. Her job might be in jeopardy after a winless start to her run in the promotion.

Fights to an unsatisfying draw against DeAnna Bennett
FlyweightUFC
December 1, 2017
Fabian drew with DeAnna Bennett via majority draw (29-27, 28-28, 28-28) at the TUF 26 Finale on Friday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
This was a miscarriage of justice. Even after a point deduction, Fabian deserved to take home the decision in this fight. She nearly finished the fight at the end of the first round. Bennett was stunned with a head kick and many referees would have stopped the fight. Fabian spent most of the fight pressed against the cage, but she defended the takedowns and did more damage on the feet. This would have been the biggest win of Fabian's career. Instead she ends up with a draw.
