Tobias defeated Jair de Oliveira via submission (rear-naked choke) at 3:46 of Round 1 at Dana White's Contender Series on Tuesday. After the show, he was one of five fighters to be officially awarded a UFC contract.

Tobias made the most of a five-and-a-half-inch reach advantage, stinging his fellow countryman with hard shots every time he tried to enter the pocket. Perhaps seeing a path of lesser resistance, "Bipolar" took his opponent down and scored with ground and pound before the choke presented itself.
