Undergoes hand procedure
Coulter announced via his personal Instagram page that he underwent surgery for a broken hand suffered in his UFC 225 loss to Chris de la Rocha, MMAJunkie.com reports.

Coulter posted the update back on June 15, and said that multiple pins would be placed in his hand for a period of 6-to-8 weeks. That will presumably put a stop to training until close to the fall of 2018. Coulter is 0-3 in the UFC as a heavyweight, but intends to get a fresh start by working on his diet with the intention of dropping to the light heavyweight division (205 pounds).

Coulter lost to Chris De La Rocha via TKO (punches) at 3:53 of Round 2 at UFC 225 on Saturday in Chicago.
ANALYSIS
It was one of the sloppier, more entertaining fights that you will ever come across. Coulter did a considerable amount of damage on the feet in Round 1 before his gas tank quickly drained. He was so tired in the later stages of the first frame and into Round 2 that he was unable to do anything of note offensively. Although Coulter hits hard, his conditioning issues have torpedoed any chance he had of a successful UFC career. Now 0-3 with the company with all three losses coming via knockout, Coulter will probably be released.

Coulter fought Mark Hunt's main training partner, Tai Tuivasa, and did not fare well. He never really got any offense going, and Tuivasa, who has professional boxing experience, hurt him early. Coulter also had his legs taken out from under him on multiple occasions by "Bam Bam's" leg kicks. Coulter was finished in spectacular fashion when Tuivasa landed a huge flying knee that knocked Coulter out cold.

Eaten alive by leg kicks from Sherman throughout the course of the fight, Coulter managed to dig deep to turn this into a fun, exciting scrap. Despite essentially fighting on one leg, Coulter threw numerous bombs and connected with a fair share of them. It's obvious that Coulter doesn't have the technical skills of a top fighter, but he likely earned himself a $50,000 Fight of the Night bonus due to his toughness.
