Takes boring split decision from Kenny Robertson in Texas
Carneiro defeated Kenny Robertson via split decision (28-29, 30-27, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Hidalgo, Texas.
ANALYSIS
It was one of the rare fights in this sport where neither man deserved to pick up a win. In what was a snooze fest from the opening bell, Carneiro was the more accurate striker and landed the only two takedowns of the fight, which apparently earned him the win. The whole fight was entirely forgettable. The Brazilian is now somehow 2-1 in his second run in the UFC, although he looks uncomfortable at welterweight and would probably be better served moving back up to middleweight.

Carneiro lost to Derek Brunson via TKO (strikes) at 2:38 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Sunday in Pittsburgh.
ANALYSIS
Carneiro didn't have a prayer in this fight if it didn't take place on the mat. Unable to get off the mat and being peppered by repeated punches from Brunson, Carneiro should be happy that referee Keith Peterson stepped in when he did. It only would have gotten worse from there. Carneiro has legitimate all-world submission skills but he is already 37-years old and he is always going to struggle against a guy with the athletic skills of Brunson. Carneiro isn't much of a threat in the 185-pound division.

Carneiro (+355) is a large underdog for his middleweight fight against Derek Brunson that will take place at UFC Fight Night on Sunday in Pittsburgh.
ANALYSIS
Carneiro has won six fights in a row and eight of his last nine overall, but his only notable victory during that span was over an aging Mark Munoz and he figures to struggle against a fighter with the pure athleticism of Brunson. The 37-year-old Carneiro's only chance to win this fight is to grab a limb and try to submit Brunson. It's hard to see that any way that the talented Brunson would fight foolishly enough to allow that to happen. Carneiro deserves to be as large of an underdog as he is.

Roan Carneiro: Gets Gegard Mousasi In Japan
Carneiro is expected to face Gegard Mousasi at UFC Fight Night 77 on September 27 in Saitama, Japan, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
It's a no brainer from Carneiro's point of view. He gets a fight against a far higher ranked fighter and he can consider himself a contender if he's able to pull off the upset. Carneiro submitted Mark Munoz at UFC 184 in February after a near seven-year absence from the company. He went just 2-3 in his first stint with the UFC.
