WIlkinson received a 180-day medical suspension following his TKO loss to Israel Adesanya at UFC 221, MMAFighting.com reports.

Wilkinson suffered a savage beating at the hands of skilled striking prospect Israel Adesanya, a fight in which he was clearly overmatched. If the UFC decides to keep him around, it will be at least six months before he can step into the Octagon again, as he appeared to have suffered multiple facial injuries in the loss. As is typical in these situations, he could fight again earlier if he receives clearance from an OMF or ENT.

You have to feel a bit bad for Wilkinson as he was fed to the wolves in his home country. Facing one of the best striking prospects that we have seen in the UFC in recent memory, Wilkinson had less than no chance once Adesanya was able to separate from him and create distance in Round 2. It didn't help that referee Steve Perceval allowed him to absorb at least a dozen unnecessary strikes before he finally stopped the action. Wilkinson is now 0-2 in his brief UFC career and could be looking at a release.

However, Bahadurzada was throwing power punches and looking for the knockout the entire time.
