Sara McMann

Fight canceled
September 16, 2022
McMann will no longer face Aspen Ladd at UFC Vegas 60 on Saturday after the fight was removed from the card, Carlos Contreras Legaspi of ESPN Deportes reports.
With Ladd coming in heavy on the scale Friday, the UFC decided to pull the fight from the Sept. 17 card. Considering this particular matchup has already been rescheduled once, it's unclear if the two bantamweights will be booked to face each other again down the road. Regardless, McMann will now have to wait to be booked on a future card before she returns to the Octagon.

Ladd has apparently withdrawn due to a bout with COVID-19 (per, and it's unclear what the UFC intends to do with this proposed matchup at this time. It's possible they may seek a new, short-notice opponent for McMann or potentially look to rebook this fight at a later date.
Squaring off with Ladd
May 17, 2022
McMann will take on Aspen Ladd on the Aug. 13 UFC card, All Access MMA reports.
McMann has been on a roller coaster of late, trading off wins and losses over her last four bouts. She'll aim to piece together a second consecutive victory this time out, squaring off against an opponent in Ladd who has dropped three of her last four fights. Both fighters stand at 5-foot-6 and sport 66-inch reaches, so there won't be any size advantage for this fight.
Turns back clock in victory
March 26, 2022
McMann defeated Karol Rosa via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Columbus, Ohio.
This was a classic McMann fight. It was slow, grinding and resulted in her landing a boatload of takedowns and racking up a ton of control time. It's the only type of bout McMann can win these days, but credit to her to fighting to her strengths. She entered as a +205 underdog, but that didn't stop Sara from hitting 4-of-6 takedowns, the end result of which was more than two full rounds (10:27) in a dominant position. No one would have batted an eye if either of the first two frames were scored 10-8 in McMann's favor. McMann is 41 years of age and is just 2-3 in her past five fights even with this win, but this bout was a reminder that she's still dangerous if she can get her wrestling game going.
