Sean O'Connell
The Real OC
Gets neutralized, TKO'd by Corey Anderson in Albany
O'Connell lost to Corey Anderson via TKO (strikes) at 2:36 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night 102 on Friday.
ANALYSIS
O'Connell is at his best when he is able to throw bombs in the pocket, but he was never given that chance by Anderson, who took him down and controlled him before pounding out the 33-year-old in Round 2. O'Connell can put on an exciting fight against the right opponent, but a high-level wrestler isn't quite the matchup to make that happen. O'Connell has now lost three fights in a row and carries a record of 2-5 in the UFC, but will likely remain a draw thanks to his big knockout power.

O'Connell lost to Steve Bosse via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 27-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Ottawa.
ANALYSIS
It doesn't happen often, but this was one of those rare instances where a fighter raised his stock significantly despite a loss. In what will go down as one of the better fights of the year, O'Connell and Bosse both threw bombs for fifteen minutes. It's a miracle that both men were able to last until the final bell. OC appeared to have a terrific chance to win the fight after landing numerous power shots in Round 1, but he was unable to finish Bosse off. O'Connell isn't a technical fighter, but he realizes that, so he tries to make his fights as entertaining as possible, which is exactly what all fighters should be doing. O'Connell is now 2-4 in the UFC, but those numbers mean nothing after a fight like this. Quality losses can be better for a fighter than boring wins and this is a prime example of that.

O'Connell was defeated by Ilir Latifi via KO (punch) at :30 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night 81 on Sunday in Boston.
ANALYSIS
O'Connell had been riding a two-fight win streak entering this bout, but that came to a grinding halt after eating a huge right hand from Latifi. The blow wobbled his legs and sent him immediately to the ground, and the fight was rightfully stopped shortly afterwards.
