Soriano lost to Shayilan Nuerdanbieke via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Soriano returned to the UFC this past May after six-plus years away and was submitted by Christos Giagos early in Round 2. He looked good in Round 1 of that fight before falling apart, and it was more of the same here. Soriano was the much more effective fighter in the opening frame, but his gas tank quickly evaporated, and that allowed Nuerdanbieke to rack up a 101-27 edge in total strikes landed over the course of the final ten minutes en route to the easy victory. Soriano simply couldn't afford a performance like this after the Giagos fiasco, and there's a chance this effort could again end his time with the company.

Soriano will take on Shayilan Nuerdanbieke in a lightweight bout at the UFC event Nov. 20, Marcel Dorff of MMADNA reports.
ANALYSIS
Soriano was supposed to fight last week against Fernando Padilla, but ultimately the bout was cancelled. This could be Soriano's last shot in the UFC, as he is now 0-4 with the promotion after falling to Christos Giagos by submission back in May.
Doesn't fight Saturday

Soriano and Fernando Padilla ultimately did not make the walk to the Octagon on Saturday at UFC Vegas 38.
ANALYSIS
It's unclear what exactly cancelled the preliminary bout, but with the tail end of the pandemic still causing positive tests along with an assortment of visa issues, it's anyone's guess as to what happened. Soriano fell to 0-4 under the UFC banner in his attempted comeback last May, but was still in line to get one more shot. His future with the company is now uncertain.
To welcome Padilla to Octagon

August 25, 2021
Soriano will take on the debuting Fernando Padilla in a lightweight matchup at the UFC event scheduled for Oct. 2, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Soriano began his UFC run with three consecutive losses spanning from 2014-15. After a stint on the regional circuit, he eventually got another call, but lost via second-round submission to Christos Giagos back in May. In what could very well be the end of the line with the UFC, Soriano will now take on a 24-year-old fighter who has won four of his last five bouts under various regional promotions.
Falls in return to UFC

Soriano lost to Christos Giagos via submission (D'arce choke) at 1:01 of Round 2 at UFC 262 on Saturday in Houston.
ANALYSIS
Fighting in the UFC for the first time in nearly six and a half years, this one ended just as Soriano's previous three with the company did -- in defeat. Soriano looked quite strong on the feet throughout Round 1, but he was at a massive disadvantage in the grappling game and found himself tapping out early in Round 2. Soriano -- who plans on fighting at featherweight moving forward -- took this one at lightweight on short notice and the UFC figures to reward him with another opportunity due to his willingness to "save" this bout. Not much should be expected.
Back in UFC after six years

Soriano will take on Christos Giagos at UFC 262 in a lightweight bout, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Soriano will be making his first appearance in the UFC in six years when he replaces Joel Alvarez who is dealing with Visa issues. Soriano has been fighting in a lot of different leagues since and is 5-1 over his past six fights. The 31-year-old will hope to cash in on this opportunity and show he is deserving of sticking around with the UFC for another stint.
