Looking at release after loss at UFC 203

September 10, 2016
Spencer lost to Yancy Medeiros via submission (rear-naked choke) at 0:49 of Round 2 at UFC 203 on Saturday in Cleveland.
ANALYSIS
Spencer kept trying to push forward on the feet, but he left himself exposed on numerous occasions and he ate plenty of strikes from Medeiros before the sequence that ultimately led to the end of the contest. Spencer just doesn't have the talent required to be a successful UFC fighter. Now the loser of three fights in a row and four of his last five dating back to March 2014, Spencer may very well be looking at a release in the near future.

Faces Yancy Medeiros at UFC 203 prelims
WelterweightOther
August 31, 2016
Spencer will face Yancy Mederiros in the UFC Fight Pass featured prelim prior to UFC 203 on Sept. 10.
ANALYSIS
Spencer has suffered back-to-back losses to Cathal Pendred and Mike Pyle, so he'll be looking to make a statement on a big stage. Only two of his 12 professional victories are by knockout, so he'll be tough to rely on from a fantasy perspective.

Spencer lost to Mike Pyle via TKO (strikes) at 4:25 of Round 3 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Spencer started quickly, but he really faded as the fight went on. He stood in front of Pyle during numerous striking exchanges and he ended up paying for it. It was Spencer's first fight in nearly 13 months. The fact that he couldn't beat the aging Pyle is a real concern for Spencer moving forward. He is now just 3-4 in his first seven UFC bouts dating back to January 2013.
