Steve Kennedy

Kennedy lost to Richard Walsh via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 28-29) at UFC 193 on Saturday in Melbourne, Australia.
ANALYSIS
Clearly Kennedy's camp didn't include checking a leg kick. He ate so many in the first few minutes that his striking game was impacted for the rest of the fight. Considering how badly he was dominated on the feet, Kennedy did a good job to drag Walsh to the ground on a couple of occasions and get some top position time. Yet he ultimately couldn't take advantage of it and dropped a clear decision. Now 0-2 in the UFC and looking terrible in both contests, Kennedy is likely looking at a release when the UFC makes their next round of cuts.

Steve Kennedy: Submitted By Peter Sobotta In Berlin
WelterweightUFC
June 20, 2015
Kennedy lost to Peter Sobotta by submission (rear naked choke) at 2:57 of Round 1 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Berlin.
ANALYSIS
Coming in as a short notice replacement, Kennedy didn't look comfortable in his UFC debut. Kennedy is a black belt in judo, karate and Brazilian jiu-jitsu, but he couldn't take advantage of any of it on Saturday. It's possible he may not get another chance with the company.
Steve Kennedy: Underdog In UFC Debut Saturday
WelterweightUFC
June 15, 2015
Kennedy will enter Saturday's welterweight fight against Peter Sobotta at UFC Fight Night Berlin as the underdog in the bout.
ANALYSIS
As is generally the case unless it's a top fighter debuting, the guy making his debut for the UFC (as Kennedy is in this case), is the underdog. Kennedy has shown real submission skills in the past, but then again, so has Sobotta. The bigger concern is that despite the fact he has 28 professional fights under his belt, Kennedy is already 32-years-old and he hasn't faced anyone good in his career. It certainly wouldn't be a total shock to see him pull the upset Saturday, but it's understandable why he's the +210 underdog.
