Valeriu Mircea

Takes majority decision in Italy
LightweightBellator
April 8, 2017
Mircea defeated Djamil Chan via majority decision (28-28, 29-28,29-28) at Bellator 176 on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Mircea followed through with a nice gameplan early in the fight, getting Chan to the ground and employing some decent ground-and-pound. Chan likely took the third round after executing two beautiful double-leg takedowns, but Mircea was more active in every area of the fight, which allowed him to take the decision. After nearly upsetting Goiti Yamauchi in his Bellator debut in December, Mircea showed that he has the ability to outwork and outpace dangerous opponents. His professional MMA record stands at 14-4 as a result of the victory

Gets submitted by Goiti Yamauchi in chaotic first round
LightweightBellator
December 10, 2016
Mircea lost to Goiti Yamauchi via submission (triangle choke) at 3:33 of Round 1 at Bellator 168 on Saturday in Florence, Italy.
ANALYSIS
Mircea dropped Yamauchi with a punch early on, but despite his best efforts, the 23-year-old was unable to finish his opponent via ground-and-pound. Yamauchi eventually was able to get top position before catching the triangle in a scramble. These kinds of losses have to hurt, as it seemed like Mircea was one shot away from victory several times before getting caught. Mircea, who had won his last four fights prior to Saturday's contest, sees his record drop to 13-4 as a result of the loss.
