Late charge not enough
Medeiros lost to Damir Hadzovic via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC Vegas 30 on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Medeiros remained relatively even in terms of the actual striking numbers in Rounds 1 and 2, but it Hadzovic landing the cleaner, more powerful shots. Hadzovic also was able to take down Medeiros in each of the first two frames, resulting in higher control time marks. Medeiros started to turn the tide in Round 2, as he had an exhausted Hadzovic on the ropes multiple times, plus took his back and nearly secured the tap at the end. While some of the commentators speculated a 10-8 Round 3 for Medeiros was in play, the judges correctly took into account Hadzovic's striking from earlier in the frame, and awarded "The Bosnian Bomber" a unanimous decision. That's now four consecutive losses for the 33-year-old Medeiros, who still seems to have plenty of talent, but simply isn't getting the results against higher-end competition.

Falls to Vannata via decision
Medeiros lost to Lando Vannata via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC Rio Rancho on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Medeiros seemed to come out patient and looking to conserve his energy in the altitude. While he did register a few body kicks, it was Vanatta that had the bigger moments and came away with the lead in the striking numbers after Round 1. Medeiros seemed to land more strikes in a tightly-contested Round 2 and was even ahead in terms of head strikes, but could have very well been entering the third frame in need of a finish. Medeiros had his brief moments in the final round, but was still only able to really land when throwing caution to the wind, and by that point it was too little, too late. After a year on the sidelines, Medeiros looked a bit rusty in his return and picked up his third consecutive loss.
