Zach Makovsky
Fun Size
Loser of three-straight after setback to Dustin Ortiz
Makovsky lost to Dustin Ortiz via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 28-29) at UFC 206 on Saturday in Toronto.
ANALYSIS
Makovsky won Round 1, but it's difficult to see how the one judge awarded him either of the final two frames. Makovsky scored five takedowns (as did Ortiz), but Makovsky was unable to do anything with his position advantages. He was also beaten in virtually every striking exchange. Fun Size is a quality grappler, but he has zero power and he is yet to earn a stoppage win in the UFC. They have all come against quality competition, but Makovsky is currently riding a three-fight losing streak. It seems unlikely that he'll be released despite the recent struggles, although stranger things have happened.

Makovsky lost to Joseph Benavidez via unanimous decision (27-30, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Makovsky has now lost back-to-back fights, although those setbacks have come against Benavidez and former title challenger John Dotson. Makovsky actually showed pretty well in this fight, but he just couldn't match the speed of Benavidez on the feet. Simply put, Makovsky is going to struggle to win fights if he isn't able to use his wrestling ability. He's easily a top-10 flyweight, but there isn't much reason to believe that he can defeat the top guys in the division.

Makovsky (+380) is the underdog for Saturday's flyweight fight against Joseph Benavidez that will take place at UFC Fight Night in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Makovsky is one of the more underrated flyweights in the world, but he is going up against a guy who is one of the best 125-pounders of all time. Makovsky has faced quality competition in his five UFC bouts, but he is just 3-2 during his two-plus years with the company. His most recent fight was a unanimous decision setback against John Dodson last May.
