Receives indefinite medical suspension
HeavyweightUFC
September 19, 2017
Anyanwu was given an indefinite medical suspension from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Commission following his UFC Fight Night loss to Justin Ledet on Saturday, MMAFighting.com reports
ANALYSIS
Anyanwu agreed to fight Justin Ledet on short notice and hung with him during his UFC debut. In what was essentially a kickboxing match, Zu landed 37 significant strikes compared to Ledet's 36 but wasn't able to pull out the victory. Anyanwu sustained a potential right eye injury during the back and forth that he is required to have cleared by a physician. Until he has done so, the PSAC has suspended him from action indefinitely.
Goes distance in loss to Justin Ledet
HeavyweightUFC
September 16, 2017
Anyanwu lost to Justin Ledet via split decision (28-29, 29-28, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Pittsburgh.
ANALYSIS
Taking the fight on four days' notice, Anyanwu hung tough in what was a 15-minute kickboxing match. Neither man was particularly impressive, but at least Zu has the excuse that he entered as a last-minute injury replacement. The issue for Zu moving forward is going to be his lack of foot speed. Signed fresh off an appearance on Dana White's Tuesday Night Contenders Series, Zu will get another opportunity with the company.

HeavyweightUFC
September 12, 2017
Anyanwu will face Justin Ledet in a heavyweight fight at UFC Fight Night 116 on September 16 in Pittsburgh, Guilherme Cruz of MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Anyanwu has stepped in on short notice to replace Dmitriy Sosnovskiy, who suffered an undisclosed injury. He will take on an undefeated heavyweight in Ledet for his UFC debut. Anyanwu was given a contract with the company after finishing Greg Rebello in DWTNCS. "Zulu" maintains a 14-4 career record with eight KO/TKOs.
