Finds deal with Fighters
Alcantara signed with the Fighters on Friday, Sung Min Kim of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Alcantara has served as organizational depth for the past several seasons, but has not logged a plate appearance for an MLB club since 2017. Though he has managed only a 49 wRC+ across 459 plate appearances in the majors, Alcantara has proven versatile by gaining starts at every position besides first base, catcher and right field throughout his career. In addition, his ability to hit from both sides of the plate should keep him in the lineup regularly for the Fighters.
