Fujinami agreed Wednesday with Major League Baseball's Oakland Athletics on a one-year contract, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

According to Passan, the 28-year-old right-hander is expected to slot into the Oakland rotation while he makes the jump to MLB after spending the past 10 seasons in NPB with the Tigers. The hard-throwing Fujinami turned in a career-best season for Hanshin in 2022, logging a 2.77 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 115:36 K:BB across 107.1 innings.
