To Part Ways with Wayne Taylor
IMSA
October 23, 2020
Van der Zande will not return to Wayne Taylor Racing for the 2021 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season, with the Dutchman confirming his exit from the team at the end of the year, sportscar365.com reports.
ANALYSIS
With WTR's move to Acura next season it was believed to have played a role in the team cutting the Dutchman from next season's driver lineup. Van der Zande will now have to scramble in the free agent market to secure an IMSA ride for next season. "I'm talking to a few teams and I think most of the full-time seats are gone," he said. "As a third driver, I think the long-distance races could be a very good option for now. It leaves me with not many options, but let's see what comes up."
