May 31, 2024
Sims set the quickest time in the GTD Pro ranks in opening practice for Saturday's Chevrolet Detroit Sports Car Classic, taking the No. 3 Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller Motorsports to a best time of 1:10.509, Sportscar365.com reports.

Per usual, the margins were very slim separating the GT Pro ranks during opening practice. Sims led the way in the No. 3 Corvette by edging Joey Hand in the No. 65 Ford Mustang by three-tenths of a second. Both were just fractions ahead of the second Corvette, piloted by Tommy MIlner. Corvette Racing appears to have a slight edge on the field after this first Detroit practice.
