Not Returning to Means Motorsports
Vanderwal confirmed in a tweet that he won't return to Jimmy Means Racing in 2021 due to a lack of sponsorship. As of now, his plan is to compete in select super late model events.

Vanderwal raced for this team last season to very little effect. In 30 starts he claimed just two Top-20 finishes. He will not return to JMR's No. 52 Chevrolet this season. Instead, Vanderwal will fall back to the super late model ranks and focus on competition there. It would seem that his NASCAR development will be on hold, at least for the upcoming season.
