Apparently, Richard Petty and son Kyle haven’t talked much since the closing of Petty Enterprises during the off-season. Petty has no part in the team's current three-car operation, scenedaily.com reports.

The hard feelings continue to simmer between father and son in the Petty family. Since being locked out at RPM in 2009, Petty has watched his familiar race-winning ARCA paint scheme used at Daytona this past weekend and the feelings of frustration have only grown. It could be a long time before the two resolve their differences and even longer before we see the younger Petty return to the Sprint Cup Series.
