ANALYSIS
The rookie driver had quite a night at the one-mile Iowa oval. Askew was one of the benefactors of the major accident on the restart after Will Power's caution of lap 143. The running order was jumbled because of the many laps of caution that occurred in the middle of green flag pit stops. Askew inherited great track position, and then he ran a smart pit strategy to the end. He would have fresher tires for the final 50 laps and would charge up to third-place by the checkered flag. It was Askew's first-career podium finish in just his fifth series start.
