Robert Kubica

A final surgery was completed on Kubica Wednesday as doctors worked to repair his elbow.

Kubica crashed while racing in a rally in Italy, driving a Skoda. He sustained severe injuries to his right arm and leg, including multiple fractures. Kubica is expected to be out for up to a year and will likely miss the 2011 Formula 1 season.

Kubica's solid performance in Belgium earned him a podium finish in third place.

Kubica qualified third for Renault at the Grand Prix of Belgium.

Kubica drove a fantastic race to finish third in the Monaco Grand Prix only losing one position on the start.
