Wimmer is close to finalizing a deal that would put him back in the Nationwide Series beginning later this year in Richmond, WAOW reports.

ANALYSIS
The journeyman driver has been sidelined since the end of last season and is looking to get back into a stock car in 2012. The deal is supposedly with a new race team and would put him in the car for the remainder of this season and full-time next season. More details will be coming in the next few weeks on Wimmer's new deal.
