Wharton (groin) will be sidelined for Saturday's match against Sunderland but is expected to return later this month, manager Oliver Glasner told media during his pre-match press conference Friday. "At the moment it looks like [Adam] Wharton, [Ismaïla] Sarr and [Eddie] Nketiah are available at least against Liverpool, so in two weeks. That's a great job from our medical department. Tomorrow none of them are available. Millwall, none of them is available, maybe Adam and Eddie have a chance for West Ham."

Wharton picked up a groin injury in Palace's most recent game, and the injury also prevented him from representing England during the recent international matches in September. Based on Glasner's words, Wharton might have a shot at playing against West Ham on Sep. 20, though a more realistic date for his return would be the match against Liverpool on Sep. 27. The absence of Wharton means Daichi Kamada or Jefferson Lerma could operate as possible replacements in midfield while he's out."
