Alexis Mac Allister News: Can't play full game yet
Mac Allister made his return from injury last Wednesday in a pre season friendly but still does not have a full game in his legs, coach Arne Slot said in a press conference. "He will be in the squad [on Sunday]. He was out for two months I think, or longer because we did not play him in the last four games of the season. He trained with us for a week now, played 30 minutes, 45 minutes. So that is not a situation where you would start a player [and] play him for 90 minutes. Starting is possible but definitely not for 90 minutes."
Mac Allister has been training with the team for a week and played 45 minutes with the Reds in his return from a long term injury that sidelined him for a few months. That said, coach Arne Slot said he could start the game on Sunday in the Community Shield against Crystal Palace, but will not be able to play the entire game since he still has to build on his competitive fitness.
