Angel Zapata News: Sent off in defeat

Zapata was shown a straight red card in Saturday's 3-0 loss to Leon.

Zapata will miss the next clash with Monterrey through suspension after hitting Fernando Beltran in a midfield duel during Saturday's game. The ban puts an end to the defensive midfielder's six-game starting streak in league play and opens up a spot in the lineup which could be covered by offseason signing Carlo Garcia or, less likely, Jaime Gomez. The next chance for Zapata to appear will be a Sept. 20 visit to Pachuca.
