Verbruggen (knee) has returned to training and is expected to return in a friendly against Wolfsburg on Aug. 9, according to manager Fabian Hurzeler, per Brian Owen of the Argus. "He is back already in team training, and I'm sure we will see him in Wolfsburg."

Verbruggen is progressing through his rehabilitation well, with the goalie returning to training as expected after a knee injury left him out for a bit of their offseason preparation. The good news is it appears he will see the field ahead of the season, with a friendly on Aug. 9 likely used to test the keeper. He is set to be their regular starter in net when the season kicks off, starting in all 36 appearances last season while recording seven clean sheets, 58 goals allowed and 91 saves.
