Puertas has joined Werder Bremen on a one year loan from Saudi Arabian club Al-Qadsiah with a purchase option included, his new club announced. "For us the opportunity arose to sign Cameron and we are glad that we were able to agree on the one year loan. He proved his footballing qualities especially during his time in Belgium and Switzerland and will be able to help us right away," Werder Bremen's head of professional football Peter Niemeyer said.

Puertas played 38 matches and scored five goals for Al Qadsiah, after previously registering 21 goals in 118 appearances for Union Saint Gilloise in Belgium and 11 goals in 101 matches with Lausanne in Switzerland. He also represented Switzerland at the U21 level and will now return to European football in the Bundesliga.
