Akpa's heavy touch carried the ball into his own net Saturday to give Nice a lead they would not relinquish Auxerre's 3-1 away defeat. Despite the singular unfortunate moment, the central defender led the Auxerre defense with six clearances while also making one interception. Akpa has played every minute off his side's first two league fixtures.
