Camavinga suffered an ankle sprain in team training and is out for the time being, the club announced.

Camavinga was nearing a return from a long-term groin injury but suffered a new setback in team training, reportedly an ankle sprain. This is very unfortunate news since the Frenchman was expected to be fit for the season opener against Osasuna on Saturday but will now likely be questionable for the game. That said, Camavinga is expected to have a rotational role under new coach Xabi Alonso to begin the season, therefore a potential absence will not impact the starting XI.
