Ismael Govea News: Leaves Santos

Govea has become a free agent after finishing his contract with Santos Laguna, the club announced Friday.

Govea was part of the Lagunero squad for the last two years but failed to make an impact in both right-back and center-back roles. His final numbers over that period were 127 clearances, 69 tackles (42 won), 21 interceptions, 15 chances created and two assists in 42 Liga MX appearances (33 starts). However, he ultimately lost the starting position to Jose Abella.
