Hofmann is dealing with a left hamstring injury suffered against Pisa in a pre-season friendly and is out for the time being. That said, the German winger only had a rotation role last season and it is unclear what his role will be this season under new coach Ten Hag, therefore his absence would not impact much the starting XI.
