Ko Itakura News: Completes Ajax transfer

Itakura has completed a permanent transfer from Monchengladbach to Ajax, his new club announced Friday.

Ajax needed to bolster their defensive line following the departure of Jorrel Hato, who left the club to join Chelsea, and they've found his replacement in Itakura. The 28-year-old Japan international has signed a four-year contract with the Eredivisie giants and joins the club after years of being a regular starter in the Bundesliga with Monchengladbach, evidenced by the 31 starts he made for them in 2024/25. He should maintain that role with Ajax as well.
