Kristian Thorstvedt Injury: Will start the season on the shelf

Thorstvedt (heel) "is on his way to a full recovery, and we hope he can be back as soon as possible," coach Fabio Grosso announced.

Thorsvedt was one of the top contributors for Sassuolo last season, but he had surgery to address a nagging heel injury in March and has yet to return to form. He hasn't taken part in any friendly and hasn't been spotted training regularly yet. He doesn't have a firm timetable at this stage, and he'll be out for at least the first two games to be assessed during the break. Cristian Volpato, Luca Lipani and Edoardo Iannoni will absorb his minutes.
