Mbappe (ankle) got the start and played 83 minutes against Azerbaijan, before appearing to aggravate his ankle injury.

Mbappe started despite some minor concerns about his ankle from an issue he picked up against Villarreal, but appeared to be moving well. He scored and assisted in the match before taking a challenge in the 83rd minute and asking to come off. There will now be concern for both the French team and Real Madrid about Mbappe's availability in the near future.
