Bernal (knee) is still weeks away from returning, coach Hansi Flick said in the press conference. "It's not about two or three weeks more or less, because it's his career, and I think and hope he has, I don't know, 15 more years left. Now we're starting with that, with preparing him for the next 15 years, and he doesn't care if it's two or three weeks less or more, but he's on the right track. That's what I can say. We're happy with him and he's working very hard to get back, so I think it will be soon, but I don't know how many weeks it will take."

Bernal suffered an ACL injury in 2024 and is continuing his rehabilitation, with the staff not rushing his return since coach Hansi Flick said it is about his career and the comeback of the youngster should not be taken lightly. It remains unclear how many weeks Bernal will still miss, but a return in early October could be a likely plan.
