Martin Odegaard Injury: Out against Athletic Club

Odegaard (shoulder) is out for Tuesday's clash with Athletic Club, according to manager Mikel Arteta. "Gabi, Kai, Ben and Martin are still out, unfortunately."

Odegaard won't be an option for the Champions League opener due to the shoulder injury he suffered against Nottingham Forest. It's a very similar injury to his previous one, a concerning sign for his recovery if the injury is going to linger. Mikel Merino and Ethan Nwaneri are different options to replace Odegaard in the starting XI in the coming matches. His next chance to return would be a massive clash Sunday, against Manchester City.
