Matheus Cunha Injury: Suffers muscular injury

Cunha suffered a muscular injury in Saturday's 3-2 victory against Burnley and has been released from Brazil's international call-up, according to the Brazilian Football Confederation.

Cunha will not participate in international duty with Brazil as he was released from the call-up after a discussion between the medical staff of Manchester United and the national team following the muscle injury he suffered against the Clarets on Saturday. He will aim to recover in Manchester in time for the derby against Manchester City on Sept. 14. That said, if he has to miss the game, Benjamin Sesko or Mason Mount would take on a bigger role in the frontline against the Citizens.
