Matheus Franca Injury: Won't play in Community Shield

Franca (undisclosed) is out due to injury and won't face Liverpool in the Community Shield on Sunday, manager Oliver Glasner told media in Friday's pre-match press conference. "Franca is unfortunately injured again, so he's out. He missed the whole pre-season."

Franca spent most of the 2024/25 season sidelined due to multiple injuries, and he was limited to only 52 minutes of Premier League action. Given that he missed the whole pre-season, he will probably need a few weeks to ramp up before being ready to play once he's deemed ready to return. All signs point to him being sidelined for several weeks before he can be an option for Glasner.
