Niakhate has suffered a knee injury with Senegal and will miss the rest of the international duty, the Senegalese federation said in a press conference, according to GaindeYi.

Niakhate suffered a knee injury against Soudan while on international duty with Senegal. The center-back underwent an MRI on Saturday that confirmed he will miss the rest of his international duty and will return to Lyon to recover from the issue. His absence is a blow for Lyon since Niakhate is an undisputed starter in the backline and newcomer Ruben Kluivert is likely to see increased playing time until he returns.
