Nordi Mukiele News: Possibility for debut

Mukiele has trained this week and is a possibility for Saturday's match against Burnley, according to manager Regis Le Bris, per Phil Smith of the Sunderland Echo. "Nordi has trained partly this week with us, so he is almost ready, we will make a decision on Friday as to whether we go with him this weekend or whether we wait for Tuesday."

Mukiele did not play in the opener as he tried to ramp up his fitness after transferring from PSG, still to make his team debut. That said, he is now looking ahead to Saturday's match for a possible return, needing to pass some testing to make the team sheet. However, he may be held out and wait until Tuesday's Carabao Cup. He will likely bid for a starting spot once he is ready, so this is good news for the club as they make their claim to remain in the Premier League.
