Schick has signed a contract extension with Bayer Leverkusen until 2030, the club announced. "With Patrik's commitment, we have not only convinced one of Europe's most accurate center forwards of our concept. With this contract extension, we are also securing a leading player for our team with whom we will strive for the highest goals in the coming years. As we embark on the next cycle at Bayer 04, we see Patrik as a driving force for development. He combines top-class football and an exceptional goalscoring rate with extensive international experience and will help give the squad the necessary stability and structure," said Sporting Director Simon Rolfes.

Schick played 168 competitive games for Leverkusen across all competitions, scoring 81 goals and providing 12 assists. Subtracting the penalty goals scored last season, Schick was the Bundesliga's top scorer with 20 open-play goals, ahead of Serhou Guirassy and Harry Kane. There is no doubt that Schick will be a key player again heading into the 2025/26 Bundesliga season under new coach Ten Hag.
